This three-step Know Your Talent system includes:
Step 1: Assessment testing
The Highland's Natural Abilities test
"Your company's future depends on its people. A happy and
motivated worker is productive, creative and enterprising. A team
whose members trust and respect each other can move mountains."
– Lazar Emanuel, CEO, The Highlands Company
One key to successful management is understanding your employee's
natural abilities. This allows you to better allocate your workforce
and creates more satisfied employees by utilizing their strengths.
The Highlands Ability Battery (THAB) is a state-of-the art tool that
reliably gives you this exact information for nineteen innate
abilities including: concept organization, classification, idea
productivity, spatial relations, design memory, number memory and
thirteen others. We believe that people are happiest when they work
using their strongest abilities.
The Battery is an objective test of 19 abilities, each measured
by a time-tested worksample taking three hours to complete. The
Battery is available online and on a CD. Each employee's
confidential results are reported and analyzed on a detailed 30-page
Report. This test takes requires no advance preparation. Further
discussion of ability scores will take place at the on-site.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
Do you ever sit in meetings feeling like everyone is speaking a
different language? Do certain tasks drain your energy? Do you feel
frustrated when some team members consistently miss deadlines? Or,
from your perspective, seem to focus too much on deadlines? The
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator can help you eliminate these common
sources of conflict and capitalize on innate personality preferences
through easily applicable concepts.
The MBTI is a valid and reliable tool for assessing your
personality type -- your source of energy, how you take in
information, how you make decisions and how you orient yourself in
the external world.
The MBTI will help you and your team understand:
- Your similarities and differences
- Your innate communication style
- Your natural decision making style
- Your favorite ways to manage time
- Your sources of energy – what drains and energizes you?
How does the MBTI instrument work? Simply set aside 30 minutes of your
time. You'll need a pencil and quiet space. Once your assessment is scored,
you'll receive a three page confidential report outlining your innate
personality type.
Step 2: On-Site Presentation
During a full day on-site presentation, an analysis of the
Highland's and Myers-Briggs results will be presented. The impact of
this information for both individual and team will be applied
through discussion and hands on exercises.
The combination of these two assessments will tell each team member
their:
- Natural talents in 18 different categories
- Ideal work culture
- Long or short time frame orientation
- Most effective communication style
- Individual problem solving & decision making styles
- Five modes of learning & memory retention
- Energy orientation
Step 3: Implementation Coaching
We recommend follow up coaching to help leaders and managers
integrate this new information into specific work challenges and
projects.
- Action Planning - develop and revise action plans to
provide focus, commitment, accountability, and a context to use
this new information.
